Artifact reference in Portable Case

There have been a number of recent improvements to Portable Case, most notably the addition of Mobile View. Mobile View gives your stakeholders the ability to quickly and easily navigate gigabytes of data with the same ease and familiarity as scrolling on their own phone. But stakeholders often need added context into the potential significance of artifacts.

To help ensure your stakeholders have that context, we are now including a PDF of the artifact reference in Portable Case exports.  The artifact reference guide provides important information on the artifacts Axiom can retrieve, detailing the attributes that these artifacts contain to help stakeholders understand how these data points can be used to tell the story of what happened.

If your stakeholders aren’t yet using Portable Case, we also offer free training that they can take advantage of at their own pace.

Exhibit Builder updates

Available as part of our Premier Axiom license, Exhibit Builder gives you the ability to combine forensic data from Axiom case files and all other external data sources using versatile word processing tools to quickly build comprehensive reports for a range of audiences.

In this release, we’ve added the option to export your reports in either an HTML or PDF format. The new HMTL format provides a flexible sharing option that can be reviewed in any standard web browser. We have also added a new option to view extended artifact details, selecting the ‘View all artifact information’ option in the Artifact.

Jump to a folder in File System Explorer

Whether you are taking a deep dive into the file system or verifying and validating findings, the File System Explorer in Axiom allows you to drill down through the file system tree of your evidence source, just like you can by using the File Explorer on your own computer. With this release, we have added the ability to navigate to the parent folder for files that have been identified using keyword searches to further help you review and zero in on a specific file and potentially related evidence.

New and updated artifacts

We have added new and updated artifacts to help keep your investigations current with the latest apps and data sources.

A notable addition to Axiom 8.4 is support for Input Method Editor (IME), which allow users to input text in a language that can’t be represented easily on a standard QWERTY keyboard. The added support for IME suggestions helps you accurately recover what was input and suggested on a device in a range of languages that use characters beyond the Latin alphabet.
