Streamlining mobile extractions and processing with Magnet Graykey Fastrak and Axiom

With our latest integration, we have added the ability to send mobile extractions to Axiom to start processing as soon as they are extracted with Graykey Fastrak, streamlining your workflow and helping to get mobile evidence ready for review as quickly as possible.

Scaling up mobile investigations with Graykey Fastrak

Graykey Fastrak scales up your mobile data collection with the ability to rapidly extract data from multiple mobile devices simultaneously, helping you keep pace with the continually increasing capacity and volume of mobile devices.

In a recent customer story, Zachary Johnson—Digital Forensics Lab Commissioned Supervisor at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD)—shared how most incoming phones hold at least 100GB, while several come in every week that hold 1TB. To quickly extract devices of that size, LVMPD added Graykey Fastrak to their toolkit.

With this integration, once Graykey Fastrak has completed its rapid extraction a mobile image can be sent to Axiom to automatically start processing, saving time and eliminating a manual step. You can also continue to send multiple mobile extractions to your linked instance of Axiom and they will be queued and processed into separate cases.

The increasing importance of quickly processing mobile devices

Time is always critical when dealing with criminal investigations, but it is now more imperative than ever that devices get imaged as soon as possible to ensure you capture as much data as possible.

We recently released a blog that details a new security feature in iOS 18 that prompts locked Apple devices to reboot when they are at rest for longer than three days. This reboot can change the state of the device and the corresponding depth of information that would be available in an extraction.

Get started processing in Axiom from Graykey Fastrak

To get started with this integration you will need to be running Axiom 8.7 or above and Graykey Fastrak Orchestrator (1.11.0+), and those applications will need to be installed on the same system.
