Magnet Forensics Acquires DME Forensics
Last week we announced Magnet Forensics’ acquisition of video and multimedia evidence solution company, DME Forensics. We wanted to take the opportunity today to welcome DME to the Magnet Forensics family!
A few of us had the opportunity to visit with DME’s amazing team in Golden, Colorado last week, and it’s truly an honor to join forces with a company that has the same shared values and commitment to global public safety. DME has a demonstrated ability to bring quality products to customers, and we’re excited to add their expertise to Magnet Forensics.
Through this acquisition, Magnet will be able to integrate the capabilities of DME’s flagship product, DVR Examiner, in our digital investigation solutions, as well as continue to sell DVR Examiner to customers through DME.
DVR Examiner enables investigators to recover video and metadata evidence from digital video recorder systems (DVRs) in a forensically sound manner. Consolidating that video evidence with other data types is important to our vision and by integrating DME’s solutions with our own, we will continue to drive efficiencies in investigations at a time where digital evidence volumes are rapidly increasing. According to the International Association of Chiefs of Police, video evidence “can be as voluminous as mobile device data, if not more so, and there are limited tools available to reliably enhance and analyze video.”
