Magnet Forensics to Make Great Case Management Software Available
By Adam Belsher
We have some exciting news to share with you today!
The team at Magnet Forensics prides ourselves on ensuring we don’t lose sight of what matters, and that is helping forensic professionals do their job in a fast-paced and ever-changing operating environment.
Over the past year we have heard many stories of customers struggling to manage the digital evidence within their cases. Most customers were using some combination of Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, complex case management solutions and basic databases. We thought there must be a better way. We started looking to see if there was anyone taking a straightforward approach to a lab & case management solution.
I’m excited to share with you that we found a great team based in Virginia, US, from a company called Sentinel Data. We recently acquired Sentinel Data and they are now part of the Magnet Forensics team.
Sentinel Data was founded by two Virginia State Police officers out of a need for an easy-to-use case and lab management solution to manage digital evidence. Having a great product was important, but just as critical was having a team that shares our passion and aligns to our mission of seeking justice and protecting the innocent.
The Sentinel Data team has worked many child exploitation related cases and knows first-hand the challenges and opportunities that technology can play in furthering our mission.
Sentinel’s case & lab management solution is called Atlas and it is being used by law enforcement agencies and corporations to manage their digital evidence. Atlas is now part of the Magnet Forensics product portfolio and we will continue to innovate and invest in it. Our future goal is to integrate Magnet AXIOM with our new case and lab management solution to streamline your workflow and to eliminate any duplication of data entry.
The onslaught of devices, data, and new areas of crime make managing resources, evidence, budget, collaboration and chain of custody more important than ever. The addition of Atlas is our way of deepening the case management conversation with our customers and the industry.
We are eager to talk to you more about your case management needs and to show you the power of a solution like Atlas.
