Magnet Axiom 8.3 is now available delivering quality-of-life and feature improvements to help you work as efficiently as possible.
- Home surveillance application round-up – With this release, we have wrapped up our planned mobile artifact support for home surveillance applications.
- Exhibit Builder updates – Now with enhanced media categorization, artifact source details, and template creation functionality.
- More external mapping options – Open geocoordinates in external mapping tools from more artifact explorers in the latest version of Axiom.
We’ve also updated and added to our artifact and cloud service support to help ensure you can include the latest evidence sources in your investigations.

Home surveillance security camera apps
Over the last few releases, we have been steadily adding support for the mobile applications that manage home video surveillance cameras and doorbells. As the video camera technology has become more accessible in recent years, there has been a rise in home video surveillance systems with roughly 37% of homes in the U.S. having a video doorbell.
With this release, we have now added Axiom support for the iOS and Android mobile applications used to manage Arlo, Blink, Eufy, Google Home/Nest, Kasa and Ring security cameras. These app artifacts allow you to review cached data from these devices that may be deleted or expired from the service’s storage.
Exhibit Builder updates
Available as part of our Premier Axiom license, Exhibit Builder gives you the ability to easily build clear and comprehensive forensic reports combining Axiom files and all other evidence sources. In this release, we’ve made enhancements to support reporting on media categorization, and artifact source details related to artifacts. Exhibit Builder has also expanded its support for template creation including the ability to import Microsoft Word documents as templates.
Media categorization enhancements – The sensitive nature of evidence categorized as illegal makes it challenging or impossible to include in a report. With this release, you can choose to blur, block, or show content that has been graded as illegal which will determine how this content is displayed while the report is being edited and in the final export. Media categorization information for evidence is also now available in Exhibit Builder so it can be included in the report.
Artifact source details – You also now have the option to include evidence source and recovery details when adding artifacts to an Exhibit Builder report. This supporting information is often useful to demonstrate “where” and “how” content was recovered by Axiom.
Import Word documents as a template – You can now easily import Word documents into Exhibit Builder to be used as report templates.
More external mapping options
When working with data that has geolocation information, you can now easily right click on the location to open an external mapping tool to help provide the “where” in your evidence. In our last release, we’ve added this feature to artifact explorer and have now expanded the capability to Media Explorer and Timeline Explorer—helping you quickly review the location of the data without the added step of copying and pasting the geolocation information into an external mapping tool.
