Looking back on the Magnet Forensics Open House

In this blog post, Jamey Tubbs, Director of Training Operations, shares a firsthand account of the recent grand opening of Magnet Forensics’ new space in Tysons Corner, Virginia—a free event hosted by the Magnet Forensics Training team, where they offered product demonstrations, training presentations, networking activities, and special prizes!

On August 23, Magnet Forensics hosted a special Open House event to celebrate the grand opening of our brand-new Tysons Corner training facility—a state-of-the-art building boasting two classrooms with cutting-edge computer labs, glass walls, and an abundance of windows that flood the space with natural light. It was fantastic to see 62 friends, old and new, enjoying the event and mingling along with 22 Magnet team members.

Free training opportunities

The day kicked off with two simultaneous sessions. The first, “YOU are IR with Magnet Axiom Cyber,” saw Justin Almanza give 26 examiners working in enterprise investigations a quick look at some incident response strategies and how Axiom Cyber can help in those investigations. The second session, “Crazy Eights: Exploring Magnet Axiom 8.0,” led by Preston McNair, focused on the public sector and gave the 24 examiners in attendance a closer look at the latest features in the largest Axiom release of the year.

Some fun activities and tasty BBQ

During the sessions, some attendees took a break to enjoy the golf simulator while collaborating with staff members about Magnet Forensics solutions and upcoming courses. You can check out the course schedule here.

Lunch was catered by Old Blue BBQ, and as a BBQ enthusiast from Texas, I can vouch for its deliciousness. The golf simulator saw more action during lunch, with trainer, Doug Estes impressing everyone with his powerful swings.

After lunch, two additional sessions were held. Cody Flowers hosted “Magnet Verakey Training” for 21 corporate customers while Mason Miller led “Magnet Griffeye” for 25 public sector customers.

Free prizes for attendees

The day concluded with a prize drawing, where we were excited to give away several prizes, including:

  • Two advanced training vouchers for any of our classes
  • Two $500 Best Buy gift cards
  • A Magnet Forensics branded speaker
  • A Magnet Forensics cooler

Overall, it was a wonderful experience spending time with our customers and friends. I wish we could have an open house every quarter to show our appreciation and see you all again.

In the meantime, you can check out our course schedule here to find out what courses will be coming to the Magnet Forensics facility in Tysons Corner.
