CPS Integration and User Experience Improvements Come to Magnet AXIOM 2.3
Magnet AXIOM 2.3 is now available to download in the Customer Portal. In this release, we’re bringing our previously announced integration of Child Rescue Coalition’s CPS software into AXIOM, performance improvements, and offline updates that are smaller and faster.

CPS Integration Allows for Targeted Searches
ICAC investigators can now efficiently corroborate the peer to peer downloading activity included in a CPS file which led to an initial arrest and use it for a targeted search on the suspect’s digital devices. These attributes from a CPS export can now be ingested and used as a search manifest:
- File names
- P2P GUIDs
- File hashes
- Identifiers
- IP addresses
All matching evidence is displayed in the tags and comments widget on the Case Dashboard. Find out more about the integration and how it works in this announcement.
User Experience Improvements
Based on your feedback, we’ve made a few updates to the user experience within AXIOM, including:
- You can now filter on ‘source’ and ‘location’ fragments in artifact data
- You don’t need to re-create a full filesystem structure when saving files from FS explorer
- A warning is now presented when Windows Defender active scanning is enabled
In addition, within Magnet AXIOM Cloud, when doing cloud acquisitions, AXIOM will login and acquire when working through a proxy. You may need to have this feature enabled with your proxy server details entered in AXIOM.
New Artifact Support
New artifacts introduced in AXIOM 2.3 include:
- Chrome saved passwords (Windows & Android)
- Safari Recent Searches (iOS)
- QQ and QQ International (Android)
- .ASF/.WM/.DVR-MS
- .VOB/.MPG1/.MPG2
Along with these new artifacts, there have been updates to iOS Call Logs/Contacts/Owner Information, Snapchat for Android, SMS/MMS for Android, WeChat for Android & iOS as well as .WMV & .MPEG files.
Offline “Delta Pack” Updates
If you work at a workstation without internet connectivity, you now have the ability to just download the new aspects of an AXIOM update, instead of having to download the entire file — saving you a considerable amount of time while you wait for the download.
