Breaking language barriers with Magnet Axiom’s translation module
With the wide array of languages that can show up in case data—for both local and larger geographically focused investigations—determining the relevance of the available evidence can be a challenging process.
To provide you with a quick understanding of multilingual evidence in your cases, a translation module is now available in Magnet Axiom and Magnet Axiom Cyber—providing immediate translation of 43 different languages and helping you quickly understand if the content you are looking at is relevant to your case, even when it is in another language.
How does translation help your cases?
When you encounter a foreign language in your case data, it can stall your investigation, or you run the risk of missing out on potential evidence. With the addition of translation in Axiom, you can now simply highlight and right click any text-based data to automatically detect the language and translate the content. Translations can be completed as you work through your processed evidence—there is no need to specify the languages in advance of starting your case or to re-parse your case when you encounter an unfamiliar language.
With the context provided from the quick translation, you can then determine if the content is pertinent to your case and if it needs to be validated with a formal translation for use in court proceedings.
How to translate evidence in Axiom
Translation in Axiom is accomplished using a language package that is downloaded onto the same workstation you are running Axiom, so there is no requirement to be online to conduct a translation. An added benefit of the separate language pack is that it doesn’t need to be updated with each Axiom release—only when a new version is rolled out.

If you are already using Axiom, update to the latest version and download the language pack to get started. The translation module is included in Axiom Cyber and our Axiom Advanced and Premier term licenses.
